The Home Opener

BMO Field

Toronto opens the doors to BMO Field for the first time in 2010 MLS Regular Season on Thursday, April 15 (7:00 p.m. kickoff, 6:00 p.m. gates open). The expansion Philadelphia Union will be the first opponent in the home opener.

There is that slight issue of the opening day ticket mishap for Season Seat Holders. You can read about that hereto make sure you are prepared.

The match will be shown live on GOL TV Canada. Check out all of the broadcast info to watch, listen or participate as the Reds take on Philadelphia.

Toronto has stuttered out of the gate in 2010, losing 2-0 and 4-1 respectively to Columbus and New England in the opening rounds. To address a defence that has looked shaky on several occasions in the first 180 minutes of football, the BMO Field outfit signed Adrian Cann and Maksim Usanov this week.

Philadelphia is coming off an emotional 3-2 victory in their own home opener last Saturday in front of 35,000 supporters. Sebastien Le Toux netted a hat-trick, including a strike from an 80th minute free kick that made its way through a weak DC United wall.  With their first win in club history behind them, the visitors will be looking for more on Thursday night at Toronto's expense.
