Toronto FC dropped a closely contest battle BMO Field as their comeback effort fell short on Wednesday night.

Two first half goals from the Crew proved to be the difference as Sean Zawadzki and Darlington Nagbe found the back of the net to stake the visitors to a 2-0 lead. Despite a much-improved second half performance--highlighted by a Jesus Jimenez headed goal off a terrific feed from fellow countryman Alejandro Pozuelo--the Reds couldn't quite find the equalizer on the night.

TFC returns to action on Saturday night as they take on three-time MLS Cup rivals Seattle Sounders FC at BMO Field.
