Toronto FC suffered a narrow defeat at the hands of rivals CF Montreal, dropping a 1-0 result at Stade Saputo on Saturday night.

The match remained scoreless through 45 minutes thanks in large part to a couple of outstanding saves from goalkeeper Alex Bono.

The hosts would eventually find the breakthrough in the 69th minute after a floated cross to the backpost took a deflection past Bono for what proved to be the difference on the night.

The Reds return to action next weekend to host Charlotte FC for their first-ever trip to BMO Field.
