Three Keys to the Match: Houston Dynamo vs. Toronto FC

HOU Three Keys 2018

Toronto FC make their one and only trip of 2018 to Texas. Here are the Benjamin Moore three keys to the match for Saturday’s matchup against the Dynamo.
Quick Start

The Reds have started off on the wrong in their last two matches, giving up goals inside the first two minutes of the match (away to Colorado, home to C.D. Guadalajara).

Flipping the script will be hugely important for TFC, especially on the road. Rather than chase the game from the onset, if the Reds can get on the board first, it will allow them to control the tempo of the match and put the game on their terms.

Full focus from the opening whistle will be imperative to securing points away from home.

Familiar Territory

With the second leg of the Concacaf Champions League looming large, the Reds are expected to field a similar lineup to the team that featured in Colorado.

With the likes of Julian Dunn, Liam Fraser, Ryan Telfer and Jason Hernandez incorporating into the team in Colorado, a second match in as many weeks should give the squad a solid baseline from which to build on.

Panther Watch

The Dynamo boast some dynamic players in the attack, but perhaps none more dangerous than Alberth "La Panterita" Elis.

The Honduran international bagged 10 goals in 2017 and currently leads the league in shots on goal, a clear sign of his aggressiveness in the final third. Elis also sits second in the league with four assists this season.

Toronto’s backline will have to bottle up the crafty forward in order to come away from Saturday’s match with a result.
