International Recap: March Window

Bradley USMNT Honduras

The international window is once again closed as the Reds welcome four players back into their squad. Take a look how at Toronto FC’s quartet fared while donning their national team colors:

United States of America – Michael Bradley and Jozy Altidore

Toronto’s DP duo was highly influential over the course of their two World Cup Qualifying matches, taking home four points against Honduras and Panama.

The Toronto and United States captain put in consecutive 90-minute shifts in San Jose and Panama City, scoring a goal from distance in the 6-0 over Honduras on Friday night. Bradley now stands 11th on the all-time scoring list for the USMNT, passing former midfielder Cobi Jones in the process.

Altidore was nearly as busy for the Stars and Stripes, going the full 90 against Honduras before being withdrawn in the 82nd minute against Panama on Tuesday night. The 27-year-old striker bagged his 11th career assist for his national side with a helper against Honduras and was one of the most influential players on the pitch.

The United States now stand on four points in the Hex standings, good enough for fourth amongst the six teams remaining in qualifying.

Panama – Armando Cooper

Los Canaleros called on Cooper for the 83rd and 84th time in his international career, suiting up for matches against Trinidad and Tobago and the United States.

The Toronto midfielder compiled the full 180 minutes over his two matches abroad, as his Panama side fell 1-0 in Port of Spain before rallying for a 1-1 draw with the United States on Tuesday night.

Through four games in the Hex, Panama occupy third place with five points as they seek to qualify for the World Cup Finals for the first time in their nation’s history.

Canada U-23 – Jordan Hamilton

It was a highly productive trip to Qatar for the 21-year-old as the Canadian U-23s won both of their matchups, with Hamilton starting in each match.

The Ontario native played the first 45 minutes of a 1-0 win against Uzbekistan on March 25 before bagging the winning goal in a 2-0 win against hosts Qatar on Tuesday afternoon.
