Three Toronto FC Players Called Into Canadian National Team

           Toronto FC midfielder Jonathan Osorio and forwards Tosaint Ricketts and Jordan Hamilton have been named to interim Canadian Head Coach Michael Findlay’s 23-man roster for a pair of friendly matches at Stade de Marrakech in Marrakesh, Morocco. Canada will take on Mauritania on Friday, October 7 and Morocco on Tuesday, October 11. 


            Osorio, 24, has made a combined 31 appearances, registering three goals and five assists between MLS league matches and the Amway Canadian Championship this season. Osorio has earned 13 caps for the Canadian national team. He made his debut for Canada on May 28, 2013 in a friendly against Costa Rica.


Ricketts, 29, has appeared in six matches, registering two goals for Toronto FC this season. Ricketts has earned 52 caps and scored 12 goals for the Canadian national team. He made his debut for Canada on February 9, 2011 in a friendly match against Greece. He scored his first goal for Canada during a 2–2 friendly match against Ecuador on June 1, 2011 at BMO Field.


Hamilton, 20, has split time between Toronto FC and its USL affiliate Toronto FC II this season. With Toronto FC, he has made a combined 17 appearances, registering five goals and one assist between MLS league matches and the Amway Canadian Championship. During the 2016 USL season, he appeared in four matches. Hamilton scored his first career goal for Toronto FC on June 1 against the Montreal Impact in the first leg of the semi-finals during the Amway Canadian Championship. He also scored his first MLS goal on June 25 against Orlando City SC. He has earned one cap for the Canadian national team. He made his debut for Canada on October 14, 2014 in a friendly against Colombia.
