With one goal and one assist on Saturday, Sebastian Giovinco tied and then claimed the MLS single-season record for combined goals plus assists in a 3-2 home victory against the Chicago Fire.
Giovinco has now tallied 20 goals and 15 assists – a total of 35, surpassing Chris Wondolowski's 34 (27 goals, 7 assists) from 2012.
Giovinco also becomes the first player in MLS history to record at least 20 goals and 10 assists in a season.
