Duo Loaned To Toronto

Caldwell-Brockie

Toronto FC announced on Tuesday that the club has signed two international players on loan.

Scotland defender Steven Caldwell, 32, and New Zealand forward Jeremy Brockie, 25, are set to join the Reds.

Caldwell is currently on contract with Brimingham City F.C. in England. The defender will be with Toronto until July, according to TFC president and general manager, Kevin Payne.

Brockie temporarily trades the black and gold of Wellington Phoenix for Toronto red. In Australia’s A-League last season he scored 16 goals in 24 matches for his New Zealand-based club.

"Jeremy had a fantastic season in the Australian league," head coach Ryan Nelsen said on Tuesday. "It's really good that we got him on loan."

Nelsen praised Caldwell as a "leader and a hard worker," noting that the Reds have a young squad in need of experience.
