Scrimmage Ahead

Head coach Ryan Nelsen arrived in camp Saturday night as was expected. The former New Zealand captain, who finished his playing career last week at Queens Park Rangers of the English top flight, steps into a second day in Orlando that should see things heat up for the Reds on this visit to the sunshine state.

Players are expected to take part in a 60-minute (two 30-minute halves) scrimmage with an emphasis on shape. A lot has been said about what type of formation and style Nelsen prefers. Sunday morning will provide a slight glimpse of that, while the overall squad is still getting ironed out by the technical staff headed by president and general manager Kevin Payne.
