Newly acquired Toronto FC goalkeeper Joe Bendik doesn’t have a lot of MLS experience. But should the 23-year old come up against recently attained New York forward Fabian Espindola now that they are both in the Eastern Conference, he seems to know what to do.
When Portland met Salt Lake on September 22, Bendik stopped Espindola by kicking out his right leg after the Argentine dribbled through on goal at the 57th minute:
Only seven minutes later Bendik again frustrated Espindola, this time with the left leg:
Three days earlier Bendik found himself improvising a bit. Facing San Jose, the keeper got in front an Alan Gordon shot during some mayhem in the penalty area:
