CCL: Toronto On Way To El Salvador

2012/13 CCL Toronto-Aguila

Toronto FC left Los Angeles for El Salvador on Monday morning ahead of Tuesday’s CONCACAF Champions League match against CD Aguila (10 p.m. ET on Sportsnet One).

The Reds leave LA on the losing end of a 4-2 final on Saturday where Terry Dunfield and Luis Silva scored goals for Toronto. They’ll be hoping for a few more against a team they beat 5-1 on August 1 at BMO Field, but given a rash of injuries and a winless run extending to 10 games (three draws, seven losses), players are not underestimating the opposition.

“I don’t think we should take the game lightly,” forward Reggie Lambe told Toronto FC TV. “We beat the Galaxy before and we didn’t get to do that again (Saturday).”

Lambe scored twice in the August victory over Aguila, the Bermudian is hoping for a repeat performance to give the club and its fans some good news.

TorontoFC.ca will have more from Central America when the Reds arrive in the capital city, San Salvador.
