Day 2: An Exceptional Initiative

On day two of TFC//TWELVE, Toronto FC was invited to Mount Sinai Hospital to speak with a grief counsellor and two special guests about an exceptional initiative, Dr Jay Children’s Grief Program.

The mission of the program is to provide palliative care funding and support for children and to help families face terminal illness with both dignity and determination.  With four committed and incredibly caring counsellors this program, which is free of charge, works primarily on referrals from both past clients and The Hospital For Sick Children (SickKids).

Toronto FC had the great pleasure of speaking with Andrea Warnick, one of the counsellors and meeting Dan Lynn and his mother Angie Anthanasopoulos, who shared their experience of the program after the loss of Dan's father and Angie's husband.

It is evident after speaking to Andrea, Dan and Angie that Dr. Jay Children’s Grief Program is a remarkable charity that is truly making a difference in our community.
