Salazar In Charge Wednesday

Ricardo Salazar

An all-American officiating crew led by Ricardo Salazar will take charge of Wednesday’s Champions League semifinal first leg at BMO Field, according to CONCACAF.

When Toronto takes on Santos Laguna, Salazar will be assisted by Kermit Quisenberry and Adam Wienckowski. The fourth official will be another U.S. veteran, Terry Vaughn.

Salazar was the head referee during Toronto’s MLS opener in Seattle on March 17. He handed out three yellow cards in the match, one to TFC’s Aaron Maund in second half stoppage time.

The 39-year old's last involvement at BMO Field in the Champions League was as a fourth official in the 2-1 Toronto win over Real Esteli on July 27.
