The 2011 MLS Expansion Draft came and went without Toronto FC losing any players to rival Montreal Impact.

Montreal head coach Jesse Marsch surprised many when he uttered Houston forward Brian Ching’s name as the opening pick of the 10 player selections. A day earlier on Twitter, a post circulated suggesting Ching would retire if he was selected by the expansion team.
MLS’ other Canadian team, Vancouver Whitecaps FC, lost defender/midfielder Jeb Brovsky.
