Toronto FC announced Friday that they have signed trialist defender Mikael Yourassowsky and 2011 MLS SuperDraft pick midfielder Matt Gold.

"We have added two important players to our roster today. We needed another left back and Mikael performed well for us during pre-season,” said Toronto FC Head Coach and Technical Director Aron Winter. “Matt was a player we watched at the combine and were happy to select him in the SuperDraft and get him signed.

Yourassowsky, 28, is of Belgian and Ukrainian descent who began his career with Belgian side Anderlecht. Following time with Anderlecht and Genk, he moved to Argentina to play for Boca Juniors. Yourassowsky also had stops in Spain, Greece, Mexico and most recently with NK Rijeka of the Croatian Prva HNL.
