Toronto FC 2011 Schedule

Major League Soccer announced Thursday the complete regular season schedule for 2011. The 16th season of MLS will see each of the league’s 18 clubs play 34 regular season games.

In their fifth MLS season, Toronto FC will play each team home and away. As previously announced, the team will open the 2011 season on Saturday, March 19 against expansion team Vancouver Whitecaps FC. The match marks the first time two Canadian clubs will have faced each other in MLS. The following week, Toronto FC will face Portland Timbers in the home opener at BMO Field. The match on Saturday, March 26 will kick off at 2:00 p.m.

Five of Toronto’s first seven matches will be played at home with Los Angeles Galaxy amongst the teams visiting BMO Field in April. They will be the opposition for Toronto’s first midweek game of the season on Wednesday, April 13.

Vancouver Whitecaps FC will make their first league visit to BMO Field on Wednesday, June 29, and Toronto will travel to face the New York Red Bulls a week later on Wednesday, July 6.

Toronto will wrap up the regular season on Saturday, October 22 at home to New England Revolution. During the 2011 regular season, the team will play 26 games on Saturdays, six on Wednesdays and two on Sundays. Broadcast information for all games will be announced at a later date.

Toronto FC’s schedule for the Nutrilite Canadian Championship will be confirmed by the Canadian Soccer Association in the coming weeks.
