De Rosario's Happy Houston Return

Despite the result, it was a happy return to Houston for Toronto FC’s Captain Dwayne De Rosario who scored one of the two goals for the MLS All-Stars on Wednesday night.

Having played a full 90 minutes for Toronto FC in the CONCACAF Champions League just 24 hours earlier, De Rosario’s appearance in the match was limited to the final 15 minutes, but he still had enough time to make an impact.

“It’s nice to be back home, as I call Houston one of my homes. Houston is a great town that has great fan support. I was happy to be here, but it was a very long day for me just getting in this morning.”

De Rosario’s second goal was mere consolation for the All-Stars who were already trailing 5-1 after being outplayed by Manchester United. Ching had scored the first goal for the All-Stars in the 64th minute to pull the score back to 2-1, and that moment will live long in the memory of the Dynamo forward. “To score a goal against probably one of the best teams in the world is something I will always remember, especially doing it here in front of our home crowd. It was fantastic,” he said.

For De Rosario, attention now turns back to Toronto FC. He will join the Reds squad in Kansas City on Friday afternoon ahead of Saturday’s match against the Wizards.
