Purolator Tackle Hunger Update
On Saturday June 1st Toronto FC partnered with Purolator to hold our annual Purolator Tackle Hunger Food Drive. We asked all fans coming to the match to please bring non-perishable food items or a monetary donation in support of the Daily Bread Food Bank. Our Fans responded with overwhelming support, as together we delivered 9,500 lbs of food to those in need in Toronto. In return for each donation, the first 500 fans received an autographed Toronto FC pennant and were entered to win great Toronto FC prizes.
Toronto FC is in its seventh season supporting the Purolator Tackle Hunger program. We would like to thank our fans and Purolator for their continued commitment to the community. The Daily Bread Food Bank distributes food to approximately 170 member agencies that see an average of almost 66,000 client visits a month, with one-third of people using the food banks being children. The Purolator Tackle Hunger program has helped deliver the equivalent of over 4.5 million pounds of food since 2003.
In total, Toronto FC and Purolator have raised more than 70,000 lbs of food together for this program.
