Toronto FC’s players trained at BMO Field on Friday morning before leaving for an afternoon flight to Kansas City. The match will be broadcast live on Rogers Sportsnet and The FAN 590 at 8:30 p.m.

The Reds won’t return to Toronto until late next week following the second leg of the CONCACAF Champions League match against Motagua in Honduras.

Preki’s team is in the middle of their busiest time of the season so far, with five matches in the space of 14 days. “This is a tough stretch and every point in the league is important. There has not been a lot of time to work on things because of the games and travel,” he said. “It is all about concentration when the guys go onto the field and we have been lacking a little bit of that.”

“Hopefully the win over Motagua will give everyone some confidence as we head to Kansas City. Everyone will need to see a lot of minutes and I hope they all give us quality minutes.”

“Right now as a group we are having a tough time finding more than one goal and hopefully we will get to a point where things will change for us and we will click going forward. Sometimes as a goal scorer you go through these stretches when things don’t go your way and then you get a lucky goal and things change for you.”

2010 SuperDraft pick Joseph Nane impressed during the Champions League win in midweek and Preki may call upon the Cameroon utility man again in the next couple of games. “He is a young player and has done a decent job here,” the coach explained, “but I am looking for more from him.”

“He has some soccer in him and now he has to bring that every day. A lot of times that is difficult for young players who come to the professional environment because they have to stand up and be counted every day. Hopefully he is a fast learner. He has been with us for six months and he is developing but I would like to see him develop a little faster.”
